Blessing Activity
May 12, 2018 Main Street Bridgeport
After hearing the testimony of Tomoko Duggan in Maryland and Stephen Child in Reno, Nevada on Tribe Talk Conference Call and getting a visit from Demian Dunkley and Miilhan Stephen on their Northeast Tour, we got the inspiration we could do this in Bridgeport. After getting permission from local store owner, we set up our table and materials at 10am on Saturday morning. It was raining a little so we found a protected area to keep the materials dry.
The first few people we approached were in a hurry, so I said to myself, “No matter what, I’m just going to love the people and be happy!”
The first lady Keiko stopped, Icent, had been married 44 years and she was happy to support marriage and family and help us with our campaign. We shared with her the holy juice and holy water and had a very good prayer with her. After the prayer she thanked us sincerely and had a big smile on her face. She was our first blessing of the day.
The last person we blessed was really touched by the experience. She and her husband didn’t have any children but I could tell she was a very faithful person. She readily signed for our campaign and took the holy juice and holy water. When it came time for the prayer, she put down all her stuff and joined in the prayer earnestly. She thanked us for our efforts and I really felt she had a deep experience.
We were able to give Blessings to 4 married folks and 4 Single persons in less than two hours with a slight rain on a street that was kinda slow. We found people approachable for the most part and quite happy to support our work. Those who took the holy juice and holy water and prayer, came away with a deep experience.
After giving a report at Sunday Service several people came up to us and expressed an interest in getting a little hands-on training. 5 people joined us later that day as we continued to spread the Blessing! As we explained at the Service, this is another tool in the tool box as we reach out to spread True Parent’s message to the USA.
